The optimal procedure for your conflict

Mediation is at the heart of our services. In some cases, other conflict resolution methods are useful as a supplement or alternative. However, our approach always remains the same: to support you in finding cooperative solutions based on our humanistic view of people. And doing so precisely when it is particularly difficult: in conflict.

Mediation

Mediation is valuable whenever individuals are in conflict, whether in business or family contexts, irrespective of industry or hierarchy.

In mediation, we facilitate dialogue among participants, addressing both factual and emotional or relational issues collaboratively. We encourage open discussion of uncomfortable emotions, as they are integral to resolving conflicts. In addressing factual matters, solutions are developed that are mutually agreeable and potentially innovative.

Simultaneously, mediation fosters genuine connections among parties, ensuring confidentiality as mandated by mediation laws. As mediators, we diligently understand your concerns and cultivate an environment conducive to progressing through the five phases of mediation:

  1. Outlining the mediation's shared goal.
  2. Clarifying topics for discussion and exchanging necessary information.
  3. Identifying genuine interests underlying each topic.
  4. Exploring new possibilities based on these interests and proposing innovative solutions.
  5. Formulating clear agreements.

Mediated solutions are typically more enduring and comprehensive than judicial rulings or hierarchical decisions, which often leave at least one party dissatisfied. Mediation also addresses underlying causes, thereby reducing the likelihood of recurrence. Post-mediation, teams can resume collaboration, shareholder conflicts are resolved, and family members can reconnect in peace.

Teammediation

Need to clarify the situation within your team and find new paths forward?

Is there tension in the team? Are decisions difficult to make, with factions forming and working against each other? Is there a strange atmosphere? A team mediation can help clarify these issues. Mediation can be conducted with a few participants or entire teams, groups, and large groups. The more participants involved, the more crucial the precise preparation with us and the responsible leader becomes. This ensures we select and execute a tailored process where the leader or responsible team members can contribute their goals and maintain control even after the mediation.

Typically, a team mediation lasts 1-2 days, with a follow-up session of about ½ day after six months. We usually work in pairs during team mediations. Does this align with your needs?

"I want to sincerely thank you for the team mediation. The collaboration was marked by professionalism and a deep understanding of our specific challenges from the outset. [...] The 1.5 days on-site provided clarity and untangled our team dynamics. This has made communication easier and decision-making processes smoother in our collaboration."

Managing complex conflicts within organizations

Conflicts can spread uncontrollably.

When multiple seemingly unrelated conflicts escalate simultaneously, certain types of conflicts recur within your organization, or the same conflict resurfaces despite multiple attempts to resolve it, you are facing a complex conflict situation. The cause may stem from a single conflict that radiates across other employees and departments, potentially harming your organization as a whole. Conversely, structurally inherent conflicts affecting many people may persist in specific areas or with certain individuals, even if the underlying structural issue remains unresolved.

Conflict Management: Analysis - Planning - Execution

Instead of starting randomly, conducting a thorough conflict analysis beforehand is more promising. Particularly in the initial stages of conflict resolution, a misstep can quickly jeopardize the entire process. Based on a comprehensive analysis by us, you can select appropriate conflict resolution tools, often involving a thoughtful combination of leadership coaching, mediation, team development, or organizational development.

Throughout complex conflict resolution processes, we coordinate and implement various measures through centralized conflict management, potentially involving all employees over an extended period. The duration and intensity of managing complex conflicts can vary widely, typically requiring the targeted involvement of multiple mediators with different qualifications — we are here to advise you accordingly!

Conflict Management Systems

In larger companies and organizations, there is an increasing need to establish conflict management systems, which involve prepared and systematic approaches to handling typical conflicts. Thoughtfully integrated components of a corporate conflict management system can enhance the communication and conflict culture within your company, leading to more efficient project workflows, a constructive work environment, and reduced healthcare costs among other benefits.

Coaching for Executives

Leadership Coaching: Addressing Conflicts as a Manager

Conflict situations pose a particular challenge for executives—balancing assertiveness with cooperation, enforcing directives while making fair decisions is not always straightforward.

To deliver sustainable benefits, our approach to leadership coaching often extends beyond specific conflicts to consider your overall leadership style: How would you describe your leadership approach? What aspects would you like to change, especially in handling conflicts between team members? Which qualities of your current leadership style do you wish to maintain, ensuring that even after expanding your skills, you can authentically manage conflicts as yourself? What do you aim to change?

Our goal is to help you align with your leadership role in a way that suits you best.

Couples Counseling

Not every conflict in a relationship immediately leads to separation. Many conflicts can be resolved through calm discussions, compromises, and creative solutions. However, if conflicts persist, if a particular issue continues to cause anger, or if negative feelings dominate, couples counseling can be beneficial. In confidential and unhurried conversations, we provide solution-oriented and depth-psychologically informed guidance to help stabilize your partnership or family. We also support couples in non-traditional relationships, blended families, or LGBTQ+ families.
